The Perfect Parent

Preached by Martin Parker on Sunday 24th February 2013 at a Thanksgiving and Dedication Service for Kaela Clarke. Text: Hebrews 12:5-13. We are reminded that although we are not perfect parents, through faith in Christ, we can find in God our perfect parent. We often lack wisdom but always knows what is best. Our goals are often short-term, focused on our comfort. God is in it for the long haul, looking for a harvest of holiness. We are often weak but God offers encouragement to keep going. We must learn to listen to God's Word, to look to God's goals and to lean on God's strength.
